
Activity description
La Florida Regional Park is located west of Bogota in the municipality of Funza-Cundinamarca. This ecosystem has an area of 267 hectares and is home to a great variety of flora and fauna species. In this place, birdwatchers can observe a large number of resident and migratory birds.

On this tour, visitors can enjoy the landscape of the wetland ecosystem and search through the vegetation for various aquatic birds, which are easy to photograph because their movements are slower. In addition, it is possible to hear different songs due to the large flocks of birds that gather to access the wetland resources.

During the tour is possible to watch the following interest special birds:
Endemic species (E): Bogota Rail and Silvery-throated Spinetail.
Near-endemic species: Yellow-hooded Blackbird, Spot-flanked Gallinule and Spectacled Parrotlet.
Other species: Black-bellied Whistling-Duck, Pied-billed Grebe, Eared Dove, Greater Ani, Sparkling Violetear, Common Gallinule, American Coot, Black-crowned Night-Heron, Striated Heron, Bare-faced Ibis, Roadside Hawk, Crested Caracara, Yellow-headed Caracara, American Kestrel, Mountain Elaenia, Tropical Kingbird, Brown-bellied Swallow, Great Thrush. Lesser Goldfinch, Rufous-collared Sparrow, Shiny Cowbird, Black-backed Grosbeak, Black Flowerpiercer, Glossy Flowerpiercer.
