Activity description

Chicaque Natural Park is located southwest of Bogotá D.C. in the eastern mountain range. The sub-Andean forest’s dense vegetation provides shelter and food to the birds that live and visit the park’s more than 300 hectares.   The Chicaque mist is an important element of this ecosystem as it brings microdroplets from the confluence of streams to the area’s abundant natural assets.

On this tour, the birdwatchers will see the flora and fauna of the subxerophytic ecosystem .   After a day exploring the park, the last stop will be to watch the hummingbirds in la Calera.

During the tour is possible to watch the following interest special birds:

Endemic species (E): Brown Inca, Silvery-throated Spinetail and Turquoise Dacnis.

Near-endemic species: Lined Quail-Dove, Tourmaline Sunangel, Golden-bellied Starfrontlet, Spectacled Parrotlet, Whiskered Wren, Andean Siskin, Pale-naped Brushfinch, Rufous Browed Conebill.
