Cundinamarca has a great wealth of fauna and flora due to its privileged location. This department is important because it is located in the center of Colombia and is bounded by the Magdalena River valley and the eastern mountain range, which makes bird watching possible at different altitudes. All these geographical and ecological advantages allow a large number of resident and migratory birds to be found in this territory due to the availability of resources for their survival.

Birds and Songs of the Tabacal Lagoon is a trip that begins with a visit to the Florida wetland, in this place, especially waterfowl characteristics of these ecosystems can be observed. Afterwards, we travel to the municipality of La Vega, to be immersed and meet the birds of the premontane forest, which surrounds the Tabacal lagoon, and finally move to the municipality of San Francisco – Cundinamarca and be able to contemplate a large number of hummingbirds in a private place.

Common Tody-Flycatcher, Tropical Kingbird, Rufous-browed Peppershrike, Scrub Greenlet, Brown-bellied Swallow, Gray-breasted Wood-Wren, Great Thrush, Lesser Goldfinch, Rufous-collared Sparrow, Shiny Cowbird, Yellow-backed Oriole, Tropical Parula, Russet-crowned Warbler, Slate-throated Redstart, Yellow-faced Grassquit, Capped Conebill, Gray-headed Tanager, Crimson-backed Tanager, Blue-capped Tanager, Blue-and-black Tanager, Bananaquit and more.
